St. PAUL THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH
St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, TX completed a phased renovation to a 1980s Texas Prairie style church, beginning with a modification of the sanctuary platform steps to raise the altar and add new marble tile flooring. Custom pendant lights and wall sconces were designed to replace all existing fixtures and dramatically improve light levels and focus on the altar. New confessionals in the rear of the church were reclaimed from storage space, with new openings into the rear of the nave with integrated votive shrines for the titular saint, Paul, and St. Peter. The existing statues of Mary and Joseph were moved to new votive niches in on either side of the sanctuary, which received a new reredos and wood paneling, along with carefully designed limestone and mosaic enhancements to existing rose granite altar, ambo, chair, and baptismal font. Michael, Katie, and the entire team at Studio io transformed our rather plain 1980s church into a true work of art through some relatively simple sanctuary modifications.
